A must for the traveller or budding photojournalist, this travel photography course is designed to inspire you and deliver the skills you will need to develop a beautiful and stunning reportage of your travels or photo-documentary journal.Whether you choose to focus on the iconic, architecture, people or landscapes is entirely up to you. The travel photography course begins at our studio with a presentation of outstanding imagery & instructional tutorial to ensure you are well equipped and prepared to begin your journey before we head off to various exciting locations around Sydney.

You are encouraged to shoot the entire day away under the close supervision, guidance and instruction of your prime tutor, Benjamin Lee. Ben has held several impressive exhibitions of his well-documented travels through the Australian outback and intriguing destinations abroad featuring landscapes and people. He is backed by an additional professional photographer and a hostess attending to all of your catering needs throughout the day.Your travel photography course will wind down with a picturesque sunset landscape shoot. Basic overview of some of the topics: 1. Equipment familiarisation 2. Apertures & focusing 3. Planning for the unexpected 4. Compositional techniques 5. Working with movement 6. Viewpoints 7. Portraiture techniques 8. Pre-visualisation of project 9. Building a photo essay 10. Shooting for black & white 11. Researching subject matter 12. Social commentary 13. Working with various ISO’s

Participant guidelines:
You will need to know your way around your Digital camera in manual mode or have completed a basic or beginners photography course. 

Numbers on day:
This experience is limited to 6 participants minimum and 10 maximum. Should minimum numbers not be acquired the experience will be postponed to the following date.

What to bring/Dress code:
You will need: • Your Camera(s) • All lenses you have • Plenty of varied films at different ISO ratings if shooting film • Memory Card(s) if shooting digital • All camera accessories - i.e: tripod, lens filters, lens hood, etc. if you have them • Fully charged camera battery and spare if you have one • Your cameras manual(s) - for referencing those hard to find features  • Dress casual & comfortable - You may get a little dirty. 

Availability:
Held on various Saturday's throughout the year - 9:00am to 6:30pm (11:00am to 8:30pm during daylight saving) 

Weather:
Workshops will be run in light showers however, in the cases of heavy or persistent rain, classes may need to be re-scheduled. You will be contacted on the morning of the workshop should this be required. 

Other:
You must have a Digital SLR camera or any other camera with full manual capability. NOT SUITABLE FOR COMPACT CAMERAS
