Duration:
8.5 Hours

Location:
Perth

People per certificate:
One person per gift certificate.

Experience: After a 45-minute drive south from Perth to Shoalwater Marine Park (a beautiful bay with several limestone islands), people are introduced to each other and the equipment. Easy-to-paddle double kayaks with waterproof compartments are used. The first paddle is to Seal Island, a distance of approximately one kilometre, where the group will look at Australian Sea Lions. This section typically takes about 15 minutes.

Next the group paddles approximately two kilometres (about a 30-minute paddle) to Penguin Island where they land and have an excellent picnic lunch, followed by a visit to the Penguin Centre where some Penguins are fed. After this people can fall asleep under a tree or in the sun, snorkel, swim, do some more kayaking, or explore the beaches and caves of the island, whatever they wish. People can also choose to go on a nature walk around the island to discover the many and varied shellfish, starfish, crabs and sea birds.

Participant guidelines:
