Taking up a prime position on Double Bay’s swanky Cross Street, Pink Salt is a sleek restaurant under the helm of ex-reality TV star and hospitality veteran Evan Hansimikali. The stripped back industrial space with its New York loft and old-world hotel aesthetic is the perfect space for Mark Williamson (ex Tilbury and Bondi Hardware) modern Australian menu. Dishes are broken up into ‘fare to share’ and ‘larger plates’ keeping things on trend.
Designed and decorated by the AZBcreative, Pink Salt reflects the new industrial style inspired by the eating houses of Europe, old hotels and international travel to the Americas. The outside conservatory is enveloped by one hundred year old wooden sleepers and features travelling vines on an overhead pergola. The restaurant interior is spacious and chic with hand cut carrera marble tiles lining the floor, russet leather banquettes along one wall and fine mahogany furniture. The upstairs interior boasts a loft-like atmosphere with exposed ceilings, polished wooden floors, hand blown glass light fittings, and an eight metre oregon topped bar. Every Friday and Saturday evening the resident DJ takes the stage, providing a hip musical backdrop for the well-dressed local crowds.
