Throughout the workshop we will stimulate your creative eye by introducing you to simple compositional techniques as well as developing an understanding of working with various lighting conditions, a main key of photography. Develop the ability to pre-visualise a photograph and create some amazing images in this excellent course held in Sydney.

Explore Sydney Harbour's iconic foreshore and Rocks precinct with a passionate professional photographer as you are introduced to the fundamentals of photography. Grasp the camera in all of its creative modes to discover the true capabilities of your photographic equipment investment. In this 4 hour photography workshop your tutor will take you to better known and also some hidden photographic locations around Sydney. You will learn what all of the different shooting modes of your camera are used for and how they can be applied to essential photographic technique.Starting at the very beginning, you are introduced to camera, lenses and other essential items that comprise a good photographic kit. The Workshop then logically progresses to giving you an understanding of the operation of your camera in manual mode where you will gain true creative control. Throughout the workshop we will stimulate your creative eye by introducing you to simple compositional techniques as well as developing an understanding of working with various lighting conditions, a main key of photography.

We will help you to develop the ability to pre-visualise a photograph and create some amazing images.  This photography workshop is suitable for any camera with full manual capability.Topics covered include: • Understanding your camera • Introduction to the kit • Lens selection • Shooting modes explained • Focus techniques • Aperture & Shutter Priority • Controlling colour • ISO • Developing the photographic ‘eye’ • Understanding & working with light • Portrait & landscape techniques • Compositional tips • Controlling exposure • Shooting in manual mode

Participant guidelines: You will require moderate fitness for this workshop as we will be walking and standing for 4 hours. Participants must be over 15 years of age.

Numbers on day: Limited to a minimum of 6 participants and 10 maximum. Should minimum numbers not be acquired the experience will be postponed to the following date.

What to bring/Dress code: • Your Camera(s) • All lenses you have • Lens Hood - if you have one • Memory Card(s) • Any camera accessories you may have • Fully charged camera battery and spare if you have one • Your cameras manual - for referencing those hard to find features • Dress casual & comfortable with sensible shoes (you may get a little dirty at some locations)

Availability: This workshop runs for 4 hours. This experience is available on various Saturdays throughout the year, and run from 12pm to 4pm. (1pm to 5pm during daylight saving)

Weather: The workshop will be run in light showers however, in the cases of heavy or persistent rain workshops will most likely have to be re-scheduled. You will be contacted on the morning of the workshop should this be the case.
