ITINERARY:
The Great Western Tiers is the rugged background to this gourmet tour. Wind your way through northern Tasmania’s picturesque villages on the way to a scrumptious sampling at Meltia Honey Farm. Here, you can explore the farm and see the bees themselves at work before sampling over 50 different varieties of honey. Next, the tour will make its way to Marakoopa Cave, a limestone cave in the Mole Creek Karst National Park. This cave features two underground streams, an impressive display of glow worms, rim pools and other intriguing cave features. Afterwards, you will make your way to 41 Degrees South Salmon Farm and Eco Experience. You have the option to take a self-guided tour around the fresh water salmon ponds and stroll along the boardwalk through the wetlands on the farm. Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm is the next destination on this north Tasmanian gourmet adventure. Here, you can relax and indulge in some true country style food lunch platter. Sample some of their raspberry products including chocolate dipped raspberries or rich and creamy raspberry ice cream. Next and final stop is at the award winning Ashgrove Cheese Farm. Here, you can sample some of the best unique cheeses with fantastic flavours that utilise the local ingredients. Get some backstage access to the actual cheese making process and take a stroll through the Ashgrove Shop for a delicious range of gourmet products.
