For this tour, you’ll get the unique opportunity to swim with the Australian sea lions under the guidance of one of the oldest and most trusted tour operators in the region. This is a perfect gift idea for all occasions, as it is a rare chance to create memories that will never be forgotten!

Arrival at the Marina. You will take off from the Marina at Port Lincoln and head towards Hopkins Island for the actual sea lion swim experience. Your tour operators ask that you please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time to give all guests plenty of opportunity to settle in. Once onboard, your skipper for the day will briefly run through some safety tips before you set off, heading for Hopkins Island. Along the way, your skipper will provide you with interesting facts of the local fishing industry and let you know of any important landmarks that you’ll be passing. Pods of dolphins will usually play around the boat, so it’s a fantastic opportunity to whip out your camera! Upon arrival at Hopkins Island, your skipper will position the boat so that you can see many of the seal lions lounging on the beach and absorbing the sun. They wont stay this relaxed for long though! Once you dawn your flippers, wetsuits and snorkels, many of these playful cuties will swim out to meet you. You will be encouraged to stay calm and hold out your hands, allowing the seals to approach you if they wish. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to be allowed to be this close to these beautiful creatures. Once the time is up, you can have a quick shower on board the boat which will then begin the sail back to the Marina. Marina at Port Lincoln and head towards Hopkins Island for the actual sea lion swim experience.

Participant guidelines:

Calypso Star Charter Pty Ltd reserve the right to cancel any charter due to mechanical breakdown. Guests who have charters cancelled due to mechanical breakdowns are offered dates to reschedule.

Numbers on day:
A maximum of 25 passengers. A minimum of 4 passengers is required for the experience to proceed. 

What to bring/Dress code:
Please bring swimwear and a towel. The experience will provide a mask, snorkel, wetsuit & fins.
