Great White Shark Diving Experience – Port Lincoln

6:30am – Meet at the Calypso Star Office - 3/10 South Quay Boulevard, Port Lincoln (6.20am). There will be a safety briefing from the skipper before the boat departs out into the ocean, heading for Neptune Islands. Breakfast will be served on board, along with fresh coffee.The cruise to Neptune Islands will last for approximately 2.5 – 3 hours and you can usually see pods of dolphins escorting the boat to its destination.

9:30-10am – Arrive at Neptune Islands. The boat will be brought as close as possible to the island to give you prime viewing position on the local seal colony. Here, the skipper will choose the perfect spot to dive as you begin to get ready! Get into the cage! Up to 6 divers at a time can enter the shark cage before it is submerged into the crystal clear waters. You will have the opportunity to spend approximately 45 minutes in the water, and will have ample time to see the Great White sharks investigate the cage and swim around you. For those not in the water yet, there are onboard cameras available to see the action that’s taking place below, but you can also spot some of these animals from the deck of the boat. When you’re feeling peckish, lunch will be provided, as well as afternoon tea and an endless supply of coffee and tea. To chill those nerves, the vessel also has an onboard bar! Return to the Marina.

There are many factors influencing your dive experience on the day therefore the exact return time cannot be definitive, however it will usually be around 6pm. Your return to the marina may also be delayed to ensure all guests have the opportunity to get in the shark cage on the day.

LOCATION: 
Depart from the Marina at Port Lincoln and head towards Neptune Islands for the actual shark cage dive.
