Your kayak adventure experience begins with a short safety briefing and demonstration of the paddling skills that you will quickly master, before launching the kayaks.

You will paddle the coastline of Coles Bay in a kayak, beneath the Hazards Range, discovering coves like Honeymoon Bay and The Fisheries.

Sea kayaks allow you to intimately explore the coastline, passing quietly by birdlife such as cormorants drying their wings or a majestic sea eagle.. The contrasts are stunning – pink granite mountains, pristine sandy beaches and blue waters so clear you can virtually touch the marine life below.

Relax at a secluded beach and enjoy a freshly brewed tea or coffee in the company of a small group and friendly guide.

  • People per certificate:
    Certificate covers one person.
  • Participant Guidelines:
    Children 12 years or older are welcome on all tours. Younger children are able to participate by special arrangement.
  • Numbers on Day:
    Tours operate with a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 12 participants.
  • What to Bring / Dress Code:
    Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activity (e.g that may get wet such as t-shirt / shorts); suitable footwear can be worn or carried in kayaks, hat, drinking water, camera (optional)
  • Duration:
    You will paddle for around 2 hours, and spend some time on shore.
  • Availability:
    Morning Tour: 8:30am (Oct - Apr) 9:00am (May - Sep) Twilight Tour- 3hrs before sunset (changes seasonally)

  • Weather:
    As the tour operates in the outdoors, adverse weather conditions, in particular wind and sea breeze, may affect adventures. In this case, the an altered tour route to will be taken to suit the conditions and may paddle in an alternative location in the local area, such as Swanwick Bay.
  • Spectators:
    Not applicable.
  • Other:
    Sea kayaking at Freycinet has been listed as #4 'Things to Try Before You Die' in Australia (Channel 9).
