This hands-on workshop offers the opportunity for participants to work in an interactive, fun and dynamic team environment.

With the ultimate goal of playing genuine Brazilian samba rhythms as a whole team, each person will be playing an integral role, not only as an individual, but also as part of the larger group. Key roles and positions within a Brazilian percussion team will be actively explored giving participates the practical opportunity to switch roles, face challenges and achieve success.

In the process, participants will learn about Brazilian culture, especially Rio carnival street music. An introductory video of Rio’s famous Carnivale parade will also be shown, providing a greater understanding of Brazilian percussion and culture and highlighting what a team can really be about.

Participant Guidelines:
Minimum age 15 years.
