In this 2 and 1/2 hour food journey, you’ll first discover the five flavours of Thai cuisine: the sweetness, saltiness, sourness, bitterness and spiciness.
Then, having gained an appreciation for each individual element, you are now able to pursue the fundamental principal of Thai cooking – Balance. As you prepare your Thai feast, it is the balance of these five flavours that you will seek to achieve.
As the class progresses, you will discover the guiding principle behind Thai cooking - taste rather than recipe. This being the central principle behind our Thai cooking class.
Uncover the sourness of tamarind, the silkiness of coconut milk, the delicate fragrance of Thai basil, the bold freshness of Kaffir lime leaves, the heat of fresh chillies and the pungency of fish sauce.
Infusing all these flavours, colours and textures, you will create and enjoy a series of traditional dishes. This unique hands-on class is more than just introducing you to recipes and techniques. It is about the “spirit” and passion that is the heart of Thai cooking.
Location: Classes are offered a variety of metropolitan sites across Adelaide. Depending on the cuisine of choice, classes are held in kitchens at leading restaurants, private properties or home style settings. Classes are fully mobile and can be delivered at any venue from country properties, outdoor settings or wineries to commercial locations and even the boardroom.
