For the serious chocolate lover, this hands-on class will introduce you to the sweet art form of chocolate making.
Over two sinfully indulgent hours, you’ll learn how to create your own hand-made chocolate delights. Under the guidance of an experienced chocolate maker, you’ll develop a true appreciation of the “food of Gods”.
You’ll first look at the different types of chocolate, including Couverture, Dark, Unsweetened (or bitter), Bittersweet, Semi-sweet, Sweet dark, Milk and White. You’ll have the opportunity to taste some of these and discover the differences, from the delicate bitterness of Bittersweet to the velvety creaminess of milk chocolate.
Then, using only the highest quality chocolate, you’ll be taken through the tempering process – the secret to creating chocolate that has a silky, smooth gloss and clean “snap” once it has been set.
You’ll then turn the tempered chocolate into heavenly delicacies such as truffles, pralines and hard and soft centred chocolates. Add your own personal touch using favourite flavours and fillings such as roasted nuts, mint, coconut and dried fruit.
While you work at your chocolate creations, a hot chocolate treat for that complete chocoholic experience will be served. The last part of the class will see you creating decorations - a professional touch to finish off your hand-made chocolates.
With your sweet tooth satisfied, take home your chocolates to share with family and friends (or perhaps just keep them for yourself!).
