Boutique Tours Australia take small, personalised groups (maximum 7 passengers) and travel in luxury 4WD vehicles to the Southern Highlands (90 minutes from Sydney) in a tour designed for those who really want to see and understand Australia's wildlife in its natural bush surrounds.
With the help of a knowledgeable and passionate Guide you'll search for Australia's charismatic megafauna, including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats, possums, gliders and platypus. Birdlife includes distinctive parrots, bowerbirds, kookaburras and the unique Lyrebird, known as the Bush Mimic. Naturally, we never know what we'll find each day, but you're certain not to be disappointed.
Throughout the day short walks will take you through a range of environments from temperate rainforest to escarpments, and eucalypt forests known endemically as 'The Bush'.
The vehicles are customised to spoil, with roomy, comfortable seats, onboard field guides, maps and binoculars. As much of Australia's fauna is nocturnal, at dusk the Bush comes alive and we're ready to explore it with spotlights and torches.
This is a fabulous and highly personalised way to see and really learn about Australia's exceptional unique and distinctive wildlife. Both a light picnic lunch and a hearty country style dinner are included in the tour.
