Full Description

Hot air balloon flights over Byron Bay and the breathtaking hinterland. Rise out of the misty morning to drift dreamily through sunrise skies, you will be overcome by the beauty of the “rainbow region”. Soaring majestically over an ever changing terrain stretching out endlessly underneath, you will enjoy a birds eye view of Byron’s famous headland and beaches, the massive volcanic rim surrounding Mt Warning, and far beyond to the Great Dividing Range. After your flight enjoy a delicious gourmet breakfast.

People per certificate:
One child per certificate. (Note: the balloon can take up to 20 people at a time, so you can buy mutiple certificates if you want to experience this flight with a friend).

Participant Guidelines:
Child certificate covers ages 4-12 year olds. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 5 are welcome to join adults in the chase vehicle at $25 per head – subject to availability.

Numbers on Day:
The balloon can take up to 20 people at a time, so you can buy mutiple certificates if you want to experience this flight with a friend.

What to Bring / Dress Code:
Sturdy shoes are recommended. Ladies, no skirts or high heels please. Please bring a cap, sunglasses, sunscreen and your camera! Depending upon the season, you may need jeans, jumper, beanie and a jacket that you can remove as the morning warms up. Personal DVDs are offered of your flight from $100 per person.

Duration:
Please allow 4 hours for this experience. At the base, the pilot will give you a brief outline of current weather and the proposed launch site. Next you will be driven to the launch site, where the balloon is unpacked and prepared for inflation. If you want, you can help with this. takes around twenty minutes to prepare the balloon for take off, and once the pilot has completed his pre flight checks you are invited to climb into the basket. After a passenger briefing it is time for take off.

Availability:
Flights take off once daily, weather permitting, every day except for Christmas Day, New Years Eve & New Years Day.

Weather:
Flights may be cancelled and rescheduled due to inclement weather and will be called off when the wind is more than 10kts for safety reasons. To confirm your flight call the office the day before between 5 and 6 pm for a weather check and exact meeting time.

Spectators:
You and the other passengers and the pilot. The smaller basket holds 2-5 people and the larger, 10-13 people. If you wish, your friends and family can join you for breakfast. The cost is $30 per adult and $15 per child (up to the age of 12) and bookings must be made in advance.
