The experience begins with a theory lesson in a state of the art classroom covering the basics of helicopter flight followed by a lesson in ‘controls and effect’. The lesson provides a general understanding of how a helicopter flies and the function of the various controls. The lesson is followed by a safety briefing and a ‘walk around’ introduction and pre flight inspection of the actual helicopter you will be flying

The trial introductory flight is conducted in the company’s latest model Robinson R22 helicopter, the preferred and most widely used helicopter in the world for that purpose, and deemed by many as the sports car of the sky.

Shortly after becoming airborne, the experienced instructor will gradually hand over the various controls until you have full control of the helicopter. Test your skills at the basic manoeuvres of flight.

Participant Guidelines:
Max passenger weight 109kg . Any special needs can be accommodated. Minimum age is 16 years old. Please ensure any relevant medical conditions are known to the booking agent.

Neat casual clothing with closed footwear.

Duration:
To guarantee your seat please arrive 15 minutes prior to flight time. The flight duration is 20 minutes. Allow 1 hour for the total experience.

Availability:
Operating daily from Essendon Airport. Bookings are essential. Please allow 2-3 weeks advance booking.

Weather:
Tour duration, flight times and tour inclusions may vary due to weather conditions. Flights operate daily subject to weather conditions. In extreme weather your flight will be rescheduled.

Spectators:
Passengers are not permitted on this experience.

Other:
Training level is to be determined at the sole discretion of the instructor.
